Gutter cleaning is not on the top of most people’s priority list, as they say, ‘out of sight, out of mind’. However, gutters play a pivotal role in the structural integrity of your house, helping to protect your home and yard from the damaging and erosive effects of water.
Having clogged gutters will prevent water from draining properly and the water will instead try to find somewhere else to drain out through, this could result in water leaking into your home through your windows and ceilings.
The build-up of leaves, dirt and debris will encourage corrosion in your gutters and down pipes which will eventually end up having to be replaced, along with any repair work required to fix any water damage, all of this can be extremely expensive. Gutter cleaning should be completed at least twice a year in Autumn and in Spring to prepare for the increased rainfall in winter and hot, dry weather in summer.
